High-Speed Catamaran - Initial Commercial Survey

Posted in Recent Projects by Admin 0

Maritime Survey Australia recently completed an initial survey on the Dalengi, a state of the art high- speed catamaran owned and operated by Queensland based Island Transfers.

Built by Alumarine, The Dalengi will be used as a fast-cat water-taxi service between Queensland’s Whitsunday Islands.  Naval Architect, Damien Smith’s design includes asymmetrical, wave piercing technology which along with its twin hull design offers a smooth and stable ride.

Maritime Survey Australia worked with the builder and designer to ensure the vessel’s compliance with relevant survey standards for use as a commercial vessel.

This included the following:

Design Approval Phase - Approval of design drawings for the vessel against design standards.
Construction Phase - Inspection during the vessel’s construction against the approved design.
Commissioning Phase – Testing and trialling the vessel and its systems to ensure its functions as designed and meets applicable standards including safety systems, type of safety equipment, assessment of intact and damage stability, and reliability of on-board machinery.

Contact Maritime Survey Australia today to discuss your project requirements.

Our Marine Surveyors are accredited with the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), members of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) and members of the certifying authority of the International Institute of Marine Surveying (IIMS).
