Built in the 1920's, the Blackbird is a traditional Class 1E timber vessel operating on the Maribyrnong River in Melbourne.

Maritime Survey Australia had the privilege of completing the out of water hull and shaft inspection as well as the annual periodic survey for this vintage vessel.

Owned by Peter and Warwick Sommerville, Blackbird Cruises is the oldest company operating on the Yarra in Melbourne and the Blackbird has been used to run tours of the Maribyrnong for more than 35 years.
