Home / Recent Projects / Fishing Charter Vessels - Bellasandro and Braevera

Owners of Melbourne Fishing Charters, Andre and Sue Lindsay have been operating fishing charters from St. Kilda pier for more than 13 years.

Andre spent time working as an accountant and as a Commercial Fisherman before starting a Fishing Charter business. With a chartering career now spanning more than 20 years, Andre is no stranger to the waters around Port Phillip Bay, Western Port and the Victorian coast, and has even worked on offshore trawlers around Australia.

Maritime Survey Australia surveyor Mick Uberti completed Periodic Vessel Surveys on two Fishing Charter Vessels owned by Melbourne Fishing Charters: the Bellasandro and the Braevera.

Periodic Vessel Survey – Fishing Charter Vessel Bellasandro

Bellasandro - Able to carry up to 22 people, the Bellasandro is a 43’ Custom Fishing Boat powered by twin 365 HP Volvo engines, reaching a cruise speed of 12-14 knots.

Braevera - Built for speed and comfort, the 36’ Braevera is powered by a 420 Hp Caterpillar engine and able to reach a cruise speed of 10-12 knots.

Designed and built by accomplished NSW based boatbuilder, Stebercraft, these vessels have been built to meet the highest quality standards ensuring a safe comfortable experience for passengers and crew.

Under National Australian law, all Fishing Charter Vessels are required to meet specified standards for design, construction, stability and safety equipment that apply to the vessel. The Bellasandro and the Braevera are both extremely well-kept vessels, which passed all survey requirements and were a pleasure to survey.

Our Marine Surveyors are accredited with the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), members of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) and members of the certifying authority of the International Institute of Marine Surveying (IIMS). We believe we have the most competitive rates offering the best value to Victorian commercial vessel operators. The benefits of using Maritime Survey Australia ensure that the vessel operator has to engage with only one company. Unlike many of our competitors, our Surveyors are experienced Marine Engineers, Masters and Naval Architects accredited for ALL categories including periodic electrical and communication meaning you do not need to engage with a third party to complete the survey.

The survey is carried out accurately interpreting standards and guidelines, and applying rules and/or regulatory requirements.

The owner will be informed of any deficiencies discovered during the survey of a vessel that requires repair, replacement or action and will be recorded on a survey activity report, a copy of which will be given the owner or owner's representative at the time of the survey. We will remain impartial in all of our business dealings, and we will never conduct business in a manner which could place our business integrity or impartiality at risk or question.
