OVERVIEW

Maritime Survey Australia provide services to assist owner/operators to develop Safety Management Systems, Policies and Procedures to meet current compliance obligations. Working with companies to articulate clearly how they conduct operations to internal and external stakeholders.

THE ISSUE

For the company to advance its operations in the oil and gas sector, they are required to meet the demands and scrutiny of the highly regulated offshore supply industry. This includes implementing comprehensive, Safety Management Systems (SMS), policies, and procedures.

If company’s do not satisfactorily meet the high standards of the industry, they will not maintain existing contracts and will not be successful in winning new contracts.

The existing procedures, policies and SMS were not in compliance with the prescribed requirements. The information contained in the management system was hard to read, complex and not fit for purpose.

THE SOLUTION

Through effective communication and understanding the clients’ objectives we were able to provide the best outcomes.

Our objective was not to fill pages full of text that can only be deciphered by a maritime lawyer. We work diligently with stakeholders to ensure we have a usable system that is both simple and specific. With this approach and methodology, the company can ensure the correct information is being communicated to the right personnel, be it shore based technical staff or the oiler on the ship.
