Calum Kennedy is a Marine Surveyor based in Western Australia. Calum is also a Naval Architect and a Marine Engineer. Calum joined Maritime Survey Australia in 2022 following two years as a Director and principal Naval Architect at Maurtech Pty Ltd, based in Perth.

Calum has previously worked in the Netherlands reinforcing Heesen Yacht’s shipbuilding engineering team for several projects of 55–85m steel & aluminium superyacht new-builds across ABS and Lloyds Classification societies and under MCA flag authority. He was also deployed as a Naval Architect/ Structural Designer at Hanseatic Marine/ Silver Yachts – a large-scale yard in Henderson producing 85m aluminium superyachts. Working closely with all departments, Calum produced deliverables to support production and classification, including internal design and all aspects of fabrication, engineering and fitout.

Calum is also a founder of Maurtech, which manufactures recreational watercraft, commercial workboats, automotive projects such as trailers and vehicle bodies.

Calum holds a Bachelor in Engineering (Naval Architecture) from the Australian Maritime College – Launceston, Tasmania. Calum is based in Western Australia and provides Naval Architecture consultancy and Marine Survey Services to owners and operators of DCV’s across the state and throughout Australia.
