Maritime Survey Australia have been completeing the initial survey services to Hart Marine, with five Pilots boats delivered in 2024. One of these was surveyed to Maritime New Zealand (MNZ) standards and the remaining four to AMSA survey requirements. MSA surveyors are accredited both with MNZ and AMSA, providing Hart Marine a one-stop shop for survey services for both Australia and New Zealand. The Hart Marine Pilot boats surveyed come with differing propulsion packages including Waterjets, IPS drives, and conventional shaft drives. The latest Pilot boat was delivered to the Port Authority of New South Wales in December 2024 with James Nolan completing the commissioning survey on the 11th of December, outstanding initial survey requirements closed out on the 17th of December and a Certificate of Survey issued by AMSA prior to Christmas. This fast turnaround in closing out the survey and issuing reports and supporting documentation to AMSA allowed the Port Authority to commence pilotage operations without unnecessary delays over the Christmas/New Year period.
