Oz Jet Boating are an Australian owned and operated business that commenced in 2000. Over the last two decades they have grown to become the largest and most popular Jet Boating Company in Australia, with over 1 million passengers having taken their thrilling jet boat sightseeing tours around the iconic Sydney Harbour.
MSA Surveyor Sean Anker has a long-standing relationship with Oz Jet Boating and has the privilege of undertaking periodic surveys on all three of their iconic red shark boats; Mako, Thresher and Hammer. Sean recently completed the Year 3 Out of Water Periodic Surveys for the Mako and Thresher. Being Class 1 (Cat. High) vessels, they require annual surveys in a 5 year cycle with Year 3 and 5 requiring Out Of Water inspections.

The 9m Aluminium-hulled Jet Boats Mako and Thresher were built in 2001 and 2007, respectively, by Tasmanian boat builder Lyndcraft Boats. Powered by two 260kw engines, these vessels can each carry up to 23 passengers, providing customers with an amazing adventure thrill ride they’ll never forget!
Starting in Circular Quay, Oz Jet Boating combines sightseeing and traditional jet boating with spins, slides, power-break stops and fish-tails. The Oz Jet Boating experience continues with a hot-lap of Sydney Harbour where customers are treated to spectacular sights of Sydney including the iconic Opera House, Clark and Shark Islands, the exclusive harbourside mansions, Taronga Zoo and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Oz Jet Boating’s dedicated crew have the experience to provide customers with a unique combination of fun and sightseeing. All their captains are local Sydneysiders ensuring you’ll not only enjoy the thrills of traditional jet boating, but learn a bit about Sydney too.
Oz Jet Boating have been awarded the Certificate of Excellence by Trip Advisor and has also been a finalist in the NSW Tourism Awards.

The survey is carried out accurately interpreting standards and guidelines, and applying rules and/or regulatory requirements.
The owner will be informed of any deficiencies discovered during the survey of a vessel that requires repair, replacement or action and will be recorded on a survey activity report, a copy of which will be given the owner or owner's representative at the time of the survey. We will remain impartial in all of our business dealings, and we will never conduct business in a manner which could place our business integrity or impartiality at risk or question.
