Maritime Survey Australia surveyor, James Nolan recently completed an insurance condition and valuation survey on the Plover, a 10m Z Cat built by Alumarine based in Inverloch Victoria. The purpose of the survey is to instruct underwriters of the present condition of the vessel and its current market value.
Licensed to carry up to 6 people, the Plover is surveyed to class 2C and 3C making her suitable for a range of recreational or commercial purposes. In her current setup as a commercial diving/fishing vessel, she offers ample diver access between the outboards and davits, and huge opening wheelhouse windows allowing interaction between crew and divers on both sides of the vessel. Additionally, she also has a stowage system for 4 diving gas cylinders which drop half-length into the back deck.
A diesel hydraulic power pack powers a steerable bow thruster which allows her to safely manoeuvre and hold her position in open waters and bad weather without the use of her outboard engines. Her diesel auxiliary engine has an exhaust heat exchange and pump for the divers’ hot water.
The vessel’s innovative “Z” bow gives it a sharp bow entry, with full topsides above the chine allowing the vessel to get up on the plane at greater ease. She is powered by two 300HP Suzuki outboard engines allowing her to comfortably cruise at 24 knots.
The Plover is currently for sale. If interested, please contact the current owner Charles Mason on 0428161822.
