Maritime Survey Australia Surveyor, Mick Uberti completed a periodic vessel survey on the vessel Stradstar, a 10.92m Gulf Craft Touring 36 operating as a ferry departing from Jacob’s Well or Runaway Bay shopping village to Tipplers Licensed Café on South Stradbroke Island.
Surveyed to Class 1D, the Stradstar has a seating capacity for 29 persons and has an impressive maximum speed of 42 knots thanks to two 250 HP Yamaha outboards. Constructed to the highest standard, the vessel’s hull and deck are made out of a single piece GRP mould built from combination of chopped strand mat, bi-directional knit fabric and balsa core hand-laminated under controlled temperatures with polyester resin. In addition, the hull is stiffened with GRP moulded frames filled with polyurethane and bonded to hull bottom, and the hull and deck exterior is finished with a mirror glaze gel-coat finish.
Built by Gulf Craft in Dubai in 2019, owner Scott Gava engaged MSA to complete the vessel’s initial survey. The vessel’s owners, also own Tipplers Licensed Café, a family-owned bar and restaurant offering delicious, fresh meals in a family friendly atmosphere.
In addition to the regular ferry service, the Stradstar is also available for private charters and a unique overnight island safari experience. For more information or to book an exceptional Gold Coast charter and dining experience, visit www.tipplerscafe.com.au.
