Maritime Survey Australia recently completed an initial commercial survey on the 10.3m fishing charter vessel Poseidon, owned and operated by Gone Fishing Charters based in Queenscliff, Victoria.
Designed by Fremantle based commercial aluminium boat designer, Schwetz Design, and built by Wonthaggi based boat builders, Pelagic Boats, the Poseidon is custom-built for maximum comfort and the highest regard for safety to passengers and crew.
Fitted with twin 300HP Suzuki outboards and Furuno & Simrad electronics, the Poseidon, surveyed to Class 2C and 30 nautical miles also boast a fully enclosed toilet and is fully foamed to achieve level flotation if flooded.
Gone Fishing Charters’ current vessel, Masai has served them well and will continue to do so, but in building the Poseidon, they’ve upgraded to a vessel with a large deck space for larger group bookings, keeping a similar look with sleek lines.
Maritime Survey Australia assisted the owner throughout all aspects of the vessel’s design, construction and commissioning.

An Initial Survey is the inspection of a vessel, generally for the first time, to assess and approve its design and construction against the requirements of the NSCV or other standards that apply under Marine Order 503 (Certificates of Survey National Law) 2013.
