Catamaran Imagine In Water Periodic Survey

Maritime Survey Australia surveyor David Wise-Mann completed an In Water Periodic Survey on the 14m Sail Catamaran, Imagine.  The owner, Sydney Boat Adventures engaged MSA to complete the vessel’s year 2 survey to ensure its compliance with current standards and regulatory requirements, allowing it to operate as a domestic commercial vessel.

50-foot Sailing Catamaran Imagine

Surveyed to carry to carry up to 48 passengers and 2 crew, Imagine is a sophisticated and well-maintained vessel, and the ideal Sydney harbour spectator craft.  Powered by two Nanni 4.22 (37kW) diesel engines, this twin-hulled GRP (fibre reinforced plastic) vessel is the largest BYO catamaran operating on Sydney Harbour.  Imagine’s impressive 7m beam makes her a very open and spacious vessel. Her large open foredeck with two netted areas provides an undercover area for up to 35 people, while the cockpit offers seating for up to 20.

The vessel’s cutting-edge design features provide the highest degree of safety and comfort to passengers and crew. Imagine is an extremely stable vessel that stays level at all times, making her ideal for passengers who are not that accustomed to sailing.  The vessel also boasts two sets of steps which lead into the water allowing passengers to enter the water for a swim without the need to climb any ladders. On the inside, the vessel’s saloon can seat 8 people within its large interior.

Sydney Boat Adventures has been specialising in catamaran charters on Sydney Harbour for more than 15 years. Call Sydney Boat Adventures today for a tailor-made Sydney Harbour cruising experience of a lifetime.

Do you have a vessel that is due for its survey in accordance with its survey certificates?

Contact Maritime Survey Australia today to discuss your project requirements.

Our Marine Surveyors are accredited with the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), members of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) and members of the certifying authority of the International Institute of Marine Surveying (IIMS).

We believe we have the most competitive rates offering the best value to Victorian commercial vessel operators. The benefits of using Maritime Survey Australia ensure that the vessel operator has to engage with only one company. Unlike many of our competitors, our Surveyors are experienced Marine Engineers, Masters and Naval Architects accredited for ALL categories including periodic electrical and communication meaning you do not need to engage with a third party to complete the survey.

The survey is carried out accurately interpreting standards and guidelines, and applying rules and/or regulatory requirements.

The owner will be informed of any deficiencies discovered during the survey of a vessel that requires repair, replacement or action and will be recorded on a survey activity report, a copy of which will be given the owner or owner's representative at the time of the survey. We will remain impartial in all of our business dealings, and we will never conduct business in a manner which could place our business integrity or impartiality at risk or question.
