The refit of the Research Vessel Thuwal at the Lusben Shipyard in Viareggio continues to progress well with the electrical upgrade now completed. Congratulations to Guy Oliver, Nick Mrdjen and Grant Gosschalk at Olectric, as well as MSA’s Project Manager, Isabelle Bazile for reaching this very important milestone!
Maritime Survey Australia was engaged by the vessel’s owner, KAUST to act as a project manager to oversee a major refit of the vessel involving wiring upgrades, installation of new navigational equipment, a new galley, a scientific survey room, and an upgrade of the hydraulics, heating, ventilation and cooling systems.
