MSA Surveyor Kieran Torti recently completed the Exemption 40 Vessel survey on the Gold Coast, QLD.
NGKALA is a 6.75m GRP vessel built in 2005 by Haines Hunter. At the time this vessel was built to commercial standards, inspected and received stamped drawings. This made the process for the owner less onerous and expensive.
NGKALA will be used as a commercial fishing vessel in QLD in the restricted C waters. AMSA Exemption 40 permits certain vessels to be exempt from the requirement to hold a Certificate of Survey. Exemption 40 references and requires compliance with the National Standards for Commercial Vessels (NSCV). The purpose of the initial survey is to verify compliance with Exemption 40 and to provide a report to support the application to AMSA for an Exemption 40 certificate.
